The World Athletics Cross Country Tour Gold event is set for Eldoret,12th of February,2022 and is to be held at the lobo Village in Uasin Gishu County.-Cormfirms Mandago.
This will be in honor of the late athlete Agnes Tirop.

In parts of his press briefing on 17th of November, Uasin Gishu County Governor, H.E Jackson Mandago disclosed that the event will be named after the late Kenyan female athlete Agnes Tirop.
This will be the first time kenya will be hosting the World Athletics Cross Country.
Uasin Gishu County will host the first World Athletics Cross Country Tour Gold event in Africa named after the late Agnes Tirop on 12th February 2022.

Other five cities that won the bid to host this Tour include; Lindigo(Sweden), San Sebastian, Valencia(Spain) and Tilburg (Netherlands).

Agnes Tirop.
The two-times world championship bronze medalist and 2015 world cross country champion died age 25.The story of her death made headlines on 13th of October, when her lifeless body was reportedly discovered lying on the floor in a pool of blood at her Home in Iten, Elgeyo Marakwet.
The key suspect in her murder, her husband, Emmanuel Rotich was later on arrested and was to face charges for the gruesome killing.
She was laid to rest on 26th October- on her Birthday.
